Europe’s Formula One racing may be less popular than NASCAR in the States, but anyone who watched Ayrton Senna behind the wheel in the ’80s became a fan of the sport for life. Impossibly handsome, utterly fearless, and constantly taunting his French rival Alain Prost, the Brazilian daredevil is the subject of Asif Kapadia’s heart-racing (and heartbreaking) documentary Senna (2011, PG-13, 1 hr., 46 mins.). Even if you’re the kind of driver who sticks to the right lane, you won’t want to miss it. The film’s been streaming on Netflix for a while, but the new special-edition DVD’s EXTRAS are the only place to see a fascinating interview with Senna from 1989. A-
