Some Big Love magic is coming to Fox’s New Girl. Actress Jeanne Tripplehorn has signed up for a multi-episode role on the comedy hit.

You may have heard that Jess (Zooey Deschanel) is going to have a new single dad love interest this season, named Russell (Dermot Mulroney). Well, Tripplehorn has been cast to play Ouli, Russell’s ex-wife, who is going to make her ex’s new girl feel terrible any way she can. Mulroney makes his debut on New Girl two weeks from tonight. Tripplehorn will appear in two episodes sometime after that.

The casting marks Tripplehorn’s first TV series role since HBO’s Big Love concluded last year. She’s also known for her roles in Basic Instinct and HBO’s Grey Gardens.
