Somewhere in L.A., there’s a celebratory Delfonics dance party going on. EW has confirmed that Modern Family star Ty Burrell has been cast in Dan Schechter’s Jackie Brown prequel The Switch. Burrell will play Marshall Taylor, a guilt-riddled country clubber who witnesses the kidnapping of a woman he secretly desires.

Dan Schechter wrote the script and will direct the in the crime drama based on the same-name Elmore Leonard novel, which is set 15 years before Jackie Brown. John Hawkes and Yasiin Bey (a.k.a. Mos Def) will play Louis Gara and Ordell, portrayed in the 1997 film by Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson. Filming is scheduled to begin in May, though no release date has been announced.
