Prepare to be spooked. The River, produced by Paranormal Activity creator Oren Peli, follows a group of people trying to find TV host and naturalist Emmet Cole, who is lost in the Amazon. Along the way, ghosts, creepy-crawly creatures, and dangerous locals impede the intrepid team — and give a fun fright to anyone watching. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes feature, Peli talks about going as scary as he could, while the cast discusses their characters and how the story of The River begins. Check it out after the jump.

The River premieres Tuesday, Feb. 7 on ABC at 9 p.m.
