Portia de Rossi, Ellen DeGeneres land ABC pilot

Portia de Rossi is teaming with her partner Ellen DeGeneres for an ABC comedy.

Their project The Smart One just got a pilot order at the network.

The logline: “Portia de Rossi stars as a brilliant and successful woman who begrudgingly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister — a former beauty queen, weather girl and now big-city Mayor.”

Samantha Who writer Donald Todd will pen the pilot. DeGeneres and Lauren Corrao will executive produce the Warner Bros. Television project.
