Seal talks Heidi Klum divorce on 'Ellen'
Just days after Seal confirmed he and wife Heidi Klum were separating after nearly seven years of marriage, the singer has already begun speaking out about the split. Over the past 24 hours, Seal began making the TV rounds to promote upcoming album, Soul 2, and to ease our fears about a nasty public split. “Just because you decide to separate, I don’t think you all of a sudden stop loving each other,” he said during the taping for an upcoming episode of The Tavis Smiley Show. “I don’t think you all of a sudden stop being friends.” Watch the clip after the jump.
Seal also stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show and explained that while the separation left the couple just as shocked as we were, they really did just grow apart. So why does he insist on wearing the ring? “It’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman,” he said. “We have eight years, eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways ’til the rest of our lives.”
But that doesn’t mean he’ll be wearing it forever. “Who knows?” he said. “Right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon.”
