Sinead O'Connor improving after suicide attempt and plea for psychiatric help on Twitter
After confessing to U.K. paper The Sun that she had taken an overdose of pills last week in Los Angeles, Sinead O’Connor took to Twitter to publicly plea for help in a series of tweets yesterday:
“does any1 know a psychiatrist in dublin or wicklow who could urgently see me today please? im really un-well… and in danger.”
“pls.. can any psychiatrist see me today an get me back on meds an help me without me having to go hospital?
“me dont wanna leave me kids. or f– up me work. im sorry worrying any1.. is just am sick and ireland s— for finding help cant think of”
The troubled singer, who recently married for the fourth time in Las Vegas and split from her husband 16 days later (they are still dating), has written of her struggles with depression and suicide attempts in the past on her Twitter account, and alluded to the role her much-covered marriage may have played in her current state, posting yesterday:
“so me start meds for few weeks just they say to lift out of apres marital abuse of inoccent hubby by nasty ppl depression”
“hard if u see someone u love bein hurt cus of u is all.. fux self esteem.. which aint always massive for any of us.. anyway thank u all”
Currently, she seems to have returned to lighter topics on her feed (mostly to do with defending her husband and her friend Andrea Corr), and posted gratitude to her followers, tweeting: “anyway me go do phoners now for album. cant let s— stop me working. i just wanted 2 thank u all SO much an say i love u all : )”
