Elin Nordegren paved paradise to put up… more paradise. According to the Palm Beach Post, Nordegren, Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, has had her $12.3 million Florida mansion demolished to make way for “her own dream home.” (See the before and after pictures of the 17,000-square foot property, which was originally built in 1932 and included “eight bathrooms, an in-ground pool and an elevator” here. Wait, that wasn’t the dream home?!)

While the move may seem drastic (Nordegren and her two children, who she has custody of, had only lived in the house since March 2010), we all find ways to cope with break-ups, amiright? Some of us have 12-hour marathons of Downton Abbey in our Forever Lazy‘s, others build themselves a new mansion. Tomato, tomahto.  Plus, I’m pretty she’s got a couple extra pennies saved from her split from Woods. That said, why would Nordegren still want to live in a development that boasts a golf course?  That would be like Kim Kardashian moving onto a basketball court… or whatever lab Kris Humphries was created in. Too many painful memories. Kris sad.

So, which before and after pictures bum you out more, PopWatchers: This or this? Does it seem like a drastic decision Nordegren made, or an understandable one? What do you think her new home will/should look like? (Besides, of course, Luigi’s Mansion.)
