How do you lure Billy Crystal back to the Oscar show?

Obviously, you send Megan Fox.

The Academy Awards have joined forces with Funny or Die to create a star-studded trailer for the coming show, with Fox reuniting with her Transformers costar Josh Duhamel to track down the elusive City Slickers actor for another go-round at the Oscars. See for yourself below.

It’s set up as a summertime action-adventure blockbuster, not a promo for a stuffy awards show, which is a smart move. (There are no tuxedos in sight.) It’s a good start, and let’s hope producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer keep up this spirit for the Feb. 26 telecast.

Keep an eye peeled in the ad for Vinnie Jones, a nearly unrecognizable Robin Williams, and Grazer look-alike William Fichtner, who at first seems to be playing some sort of government bureaucrat. But, c’mon — the “oh-God-you-startled-me!” haircut makes him a very clever stand-in for the A Beautiful Mind producer.

We have to give them credit: It is almost as wild as the real-life host search.
