'The Lion King Rises' mash-up; video
Alternatively, you could picture Jonathan Taylor Thomas tearfully ripping up a glamour shot of Christian Bale.
Thanks to this brilliantly edited mash-up by Brad Hansen for revealing to us the first great truth of 2012: It turns out that this summer’s upcoming The Dark Knight Rises is a rather believable allegory for 1994’s The Lion King.
Are you ready for THE STAMPEDE? I don’t think you’re ready for this stampede. Watch the video:
Fun fact: Hans Zimmer actually scored both films. As soon as the Dark Knight music swells at the end of the trailer, don’t you just want it to segue into the “Circle of Life” crescendo we brutally missed at the beginning of the mash-up? (How dare that little boy sing the National Anthem as Simba, blinking, steps into the sun.)
Also noteworthy: According to Jonathan Taylor Thomas’ Wikipedia page, the original Simba “has been vegetarian for much of his life.” Thanks a lot, Scar!
Should Christopher Nolan mandate yellow eyeballs for everyone in TDKR in honor of this?
