'Walking Dead' creator enters the land of the living
Robert Kirkman pens a new comic, ''Thief of Thieves''
Robert Kirkman is best known for writing the epic zombie comic The Walking Dead and penning episodes of AMC’s hugely successful adaptation. But his new project, Thief of Thieves, is an undead-free zone. ”It’s about a thief named Conrad Paulson,” Kirkman says of the comic, which debuts Feb. 8. (He developed Thieves with a team of scribes and then tasked Nick Spencer with writing the initial six-issue arc.) ”There will be no zombies, no space aliens, no superheroes. It’s real human characters doing somewhat horrible things to each other.” Kirkman is more evasive about the second half of the current season of The Walking Dead, which returns Feb. 12. ”It has a lot of kick-ass stuff,” he says. ”I just watched episodes 11, 12, and 13 all in one night. It’s insane.”
