Mel Gibson loses half his fortune in divorce
Mel Gibson has set another megamillions record, but this time it’s not at the box office. On Dec. 23, the actor and director, 56, finalized his divorce from his wife of three decades, Robyn Moore, who filed for divorce in 2009. As part of the settlement, she’s entitled to up to half of the star’s estimated $850 million fortune. It is one of the biggest divorce payouts in Hollywood history. The couple, who have seven children together, apparently did not sign a prenuptial agreement, so Robyn, per California law, is entitled to half of everything the Oscar winner earned during their marriage. Bachelorhood has certainly come with a stiff price tag for Gibson. Though the $750,000 he agreed to pay ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva last August as part of a custody agreement involving their daughter must now seem like a bargain.
