Linda Lovelace biopic begins shooting
In the race of the competing Linda Lovelace biopics, Lovelace — i.e. the one starring Amanda Seyfried as the iconic (and reluctant) star of the 1972 porn film Deep Throat — just took a big leap forward.
As production on the film begins today, the producers announced a bevy of new costars. Hank Azaria has signed on for the role of Deep Throat director Jerry Damiano. Chris Noth and Bobby Cannavale (pictured) will play the film’s financial backers, Anthony Romano and you-can’t-make-this-name-up Butchie Peraino, respectively. And Robert Patrick will star as Linda’s father, John.
Peter Sarsgaard is playing Lovelace’s infamous husband, Chuck Traynor. Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, and Wes Bentley round out the cast. Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (Howl) are directing from a script by Andy Bellin (Trust).
The other Lovelace biopic, Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, stars Malin Ackerman as Lovelace and Matt Dillon as Traynor. It remains in preproduction.
