Jimmy Fallon hosts 'Saturday Night Live'
If only we had Jimmy Fallon‘s uncanny ability to peer into the future. (Not only did the Late Night host predict his own future stardom and subsequent return to Saturday Night Live as a host, but he had moves like Jagger long before Maroon 5.) Then we’d be able to know how tonight’s SNL turns out with Fallon at the helm for the first time in his career since leaving the show back in 2004.
But, even without having Fallon’s comedic premonitions to guide us, we still have a good feeling about tonight’s episode. After all, it’s always fun to watch former cast members make their return to Studio 8H, whether for a brief cameo (like Fallon has done in the past) or hosting (Tina Fey came back for that spectacular Mother’s Day episode this year) and considering it’s the last episode of 2011, the show will likely be pulling out all the stops. Plus, as we recall, Fallon has some pretty famous SNL-friendly pals who might just be in the Christmas cameo spirit.
How much of Fallon’s SNL past they’ll actually revisit is still anyone’s guess, though they have quite a bit to choose from. (I’ve still got my hopes set on a timely “I Wish It Was Christmas Today” encore, perhaps with the help of tonight’s musical guest, the ever-so-seasonal Michael Buble.)
