Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace are going to get their noir on. EW has confirmed that the Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows co-stars have signed onto Passion, an English-language adaptation from writer-director Brian De Palma (Carrie, Scarface) of the French psychodrama Crime D’Amour. (Deadline first reported the story.)

The original film featured Kristin Scott-Thomas and Ludivine Sagnier as a conniving boss and her ambitious protégé, respectively — although it’s unclear which roles McAdams and Rapace would play. De Palma’s version, financed independently in Europe, starts shooting in March.

McAdams will next appear in the romantic weepie The Vow, and Rapace in the Ridley Scott sci-fi mystery project Prometheus.
