Golden Globes snubs: Melissa McCarthy, Jim Parsons... 'Breaking Bad'!?
Everyone — and I mean everyone — loves Melissa McCarthy, star of TV’s Mike and Molly and scene-stealer from this summer’s gal-pal hit, Bridesmaids. So I had to check my Golden Globes scoresheet multiple times before it finally sank in that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association had ignored both her performances this year. Not cool, Hufpa.
McCarthy’s not alone, of course. There are always snubs, and this year was no different. Also ignored: The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons, defending Golden Globe Best Actor in a Comedy and Emmy’s two-time reigning champ. The Globes chose to share the wealth with his costar instead, Johnny Galecki. (He was due, I suppose.)
The polarizing Tree of Life was completely shut out and — dear God, Breaking Bad wasn’t named for Best TV Drama! 30 Rock was left off in favor of New Girl and Enlightened!
The full list of nominations is here. Let ’em have it.
Who do you think was the greatest snub this year?
