Considering we’ve watched Chelsea Clinton grow up right before our eyes, it should feel almost jarring to watch the former First Daughter enter the next phase of her life, as an NBC News correspondent. But Clinton’s first appearance on Rock Center, and the introduction of her human-interest segment “Making a Difference,” was so poised and restrained you’d have thought she’d been doing this for years. Watch the full clip — in which Clinton spotlights an outstanding Arkansas woman named Annette Dove who created a program called TOPPS, which gives assistance underprivileged children — below:

While Clinton isn’t the first First Daughter to make the transition into television news correspondent, it felt like an impressive, if not slightly subdued, debut.
