Boardwalk Empire‘s stunner finale delivered the show’s biggest audience of the season.

The drama was seen by 3 million viewers on Sunday at 9 p.m., with an additional 834,000 tuning in for the first replay.

The network’s sneak preview of David Milch’s new horse-racing drama series Luck, however, didn’t win, place or show: Only 1.1 million viewers stuck around to get a look at the series. This was a preview, mind you, not an official premiere … but still: You would think the grown-up Boardwalk crowd would be a good fit for Luck.
