The cult of Michael Fassbender hasn’t reached Gosling-level proportions just yet. But the Irish-German actor has four big films hitting in the next year — including a relentlessly nude performance in Shame — so I think it’s safe to say that the Fassbender train is leaving the station, so everybody better hop aboard, toot-tooot! In a new interview with MTV News, Fassbender teases his role in next year’s mysterious Prometheus, which you’ll recall is the Alien non-sequel that nevertheless sounds a lot like an Alien sequel. Fassbender explains that he watched a lot of Blade Runner to prepare for his role as an android. (Which could mean we’ll see Michael Fassbender channeling Rutger Hauer, and my head just exploded.) But Fassbender points out, “Greg Louganis was my first inspiration. I figured that I’d sort of base my physicality roughly around him.” Watch the video:
