Cue the uncomfortable collar pull.

In an interview that was conducted before his split from wife Demi Moore, current Men’s Health cover lad Ashton Kutcher talked candidly about what makes a relationship work, his poor communication skills (“I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, ‘You’re a great listener.’ Haven’t heard it yet, and that’s a superior compliment to get from a woman. But I’m going to work on it”), and his love deal breakers. (“I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me.”)

Because just in case this week wasn’t going well enough for Kutcher, between the Paterno Twitter scandal and the announcement of his divorce, quotes like “Don’t wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship” and “I’m relatively scared of failure. But I just don’t see it as something that’s inevitable” are now floating around.

Ashton, the only advice one could dispense at a time like this comes, as it so often does, from the sage mind of Ron Burgundy: “Lay low for a while.”
