While Al Pacino may have to do a lifetime of repentance for his role in Jack and Jill, Robert De Niro looks as though he could be getting back in the good graces of critics soon, as evident in the trailer for his upcoming drama, Being Flynn. When De Niro, who plays a down-on-his-luck, absentee father who reunites with his son (Paul Dano), soothingly reassures the audience, “Don’t worry, you’re in the hands of a master storyteller,” you might actually believe him again. (For the record, it’s been 20 years since the actor’s last Oscar nomination.)
