'Harry Potter' director David Yates developing 'Doctor Who' feature film
Doctor Who, on the big screen? If director David Yates — He Who Helmed the Final Harry Potter Films — gets his way, the extra-terrestrial Time Lord could be coming to a theater near you in the next few years. EW has confirmed Variety‘s story that the filmmaker is partnering with the BBC to develop a feature film version of the venerable British sci-fi TV series, which initially ran from 1963 to 1989 and then re-launched in 2005.
Yates has yet to land on a screenwriter for the film, which he says will stand apart from the TV series. There is also no cast and no production crew, but the real question is, will the Daleks go CGI?
