Justin Bieber agrees to take paternity test: Report
TMZ.com reports that Justin Bieber plans to take a DNA test when he returns to the United States in two weeks in response to 20-year-old Mariah Yeater’s paternity suit, which alleges that he fathered her 3-month-old son.
Bieber is currently in Europe and promoting his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe.
Sources reportedly told TMZ that Bieber also intends to file a lawsuit against Yeater.
When contacted by EW regarding the report, Bieber’s rep released the following statement:
“It’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims. We’ll vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions.”
Last week, the Associated Press reported that Yeater has a court date in Las Vegas on allegations she slapped an ex-boyfriend and faces a bench trial Dec. 12 on a misdemeanor battery charge that could get her six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
The AP reported that a police report says Yeater slapped her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend Dec. 21, 2010. The two were arguing about a window broken on the car of the his new girlfriend.
Yeater’s lawyer says she pleaded not guilty, and he declined to comment further.
Yeater attended school in Las Vegas before withdrawing from 10th grade in 2008.
