Never have the words “puppy breath” reduced me to such a sobby mess. But I dare you not to do the same when watching this exclusive clip from Animal Planet’s Saved, a six-part series (premiering Nov. 14) that highlights the healing power of animals.

The video below tells the story of Justin Rollins, a member of the U.S. Army who was killed in Iraq. Devastated, his family finds an unlikely final comfort: pictures Justin had sent his family prior to his death of him holding abandoned dogs. Moved by the images, Justin’s mom sets out on a bold mission.

Readers, I’m a fan of TV that makes you cry, but even I have to give you a warning. Hearing Justin’s fellow serviceman and family talk about the dogs and the pictures is heartbreaking. Have your tissues close and get ready for a major Friday afternoon cry.

Saved airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET starting Nov. 14.
