Jimmy Kimmel to headline White House Correspondents' Association Dinner
Prepare to change the “K” in K Street to Kimmel: Jimmy Kimmel has been tapped as the featured entertainer of the 98th installment of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, the organization announced today. President Obama and the First Lady, along with high-level government officials and journalists, will be in attendance at the Washington, D.C.-based event, which is slated for April 28, 2012 and airs on C-SPAN.
Quipped Kimmel in a statement: “I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. I love dinner.” No word yet on whether the 43-year-old host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! will push his decidedly pro-pizza agenda.
During Obama’s term in the White House, Saturday Night Live‘s Seth Meyers assumed the comedy reins for the 2011 dinner, Jay Leno performed at the 2010 dinner, and Wanda Sykes headlined the 2009 dinner.
