Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Shannen Doherty, 40, married Kurt Iswarienko on Oct. 15 in Malibu…. Twilight actress Nikki Reed, 23, wed American Idol season 10 finalist Paul McDonald, 27, on Oct. 16 in Malibu.

Sonic Youth band members Thurston Moore, 53, and Kim Gordon, 58, announced that they have separated. The couple married in 1984. The split will not affect the band’s upcoming tour.

E! News host Giuliana Rancic, 36, revealed on Oct. 17 that she has breast cancer. She made the discovery while undergoing in vitro fertilization, a process she and husband Bill Rancic, 40, have chronicled on their reality show.

Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto, 34, referred to himself as ”a gay man” in an interview with New York magazine. He later explained on his website that he felt compelled to make the announcement after learning about the suicide of a bullied teen. ”It became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it — is simply not enough.”

Musician Syl Johnson, 75, filed suit against Kanye West, 34, and Jay-Z, 41, for copyright infringement on Oct. 14, claiming that the rap stars sampled the 1967 song ”Different Strokes” on their Watch the Throne album without permission. Johnson wants profits earned by their song ”The Joy.”… Self-professed hacker Christopher Chaney, 35, who has been accused of breaking into the personal accounts of stars including Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, and Christina Aguilera and leaking personal photographs, has been charged with 26 counts of wire-tapping, hacking, and identity theft and faces 121 years in prison. He claims that he did not plan to sell the information to the press…. Actress Jessica Alba, 30, has filed suit against The Caden Companies, which she claims used her name and image without her consent in online advertisements for the Belly Bandit, a post-pregnancy stomach wrap. She wants $1 million in damages, as well as profits from the sale of the product.

Charlie Daniels Band keyboardist Joel ”Taz” DiGregorio died in a car accident on Oct. 12 at age 67. DiGregorio co-wrote ”The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
