The People vs. George Lucas (2011, Not Rated)
A funny, bite-the-hand-that-feeds-you doc that gives angry Star Wars fanatics a forum to vent about George Lucas’ incessant tinkering with his sci-fi saga. (Also on iTunes) B

Father of Invention (2011, PG-13)
Kevin Spacey, Heather Graham Spacey plays a smug infomercial guru who goes to prison and learns zip in this satire whose jokes land with a thud instead of a zing. (Also on iTunes) C

Fingers (1978, R)
Harvey Keitel Writer-director James Toback’s hard-hitting, introspective drama about a classical pianist torn between art and a brutal criminal underworld. (Available via Warner Archive Collection) A-

Island of Lost Souls (1932, Not Rated)
Charles Laughton, Bela Lugosi Erle C. Kenton’s classic monster-movie chiller adapted from H.G. Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau gets a digital face-lift courtesy of the Criterion Collection. Bust out the candy corn for this tasty Halloween treat. A-
