Man Up premiere not so manly after Last Man Standing
Another night of The X Factor — in which the judges revealed their top 17 finalists — helped Fox to post a win among adults 18-49 (3.8 rating/10 share), according to early results. Call it a ripoff of The Voice, or a stepchild of American Idol, but the fact is Fox has won every single night it has aired The X Factor. The network has also dominated on every Tuesday night so far this season among 18-49. Winner winner chicken dinner!
Now on to the competition. Tim Allen, where did some of your fans go? Last Man Standing was down 17% from its premiere, but it still earned a tidy 3.0/9 and 10.1 million viewers. Unfortunately for the premiere of Man Up!, viewers were kind of sick of men by 8:30 p.m. — the new comedy only posted a 2.4/6 and 7.7 million. Dancing With The Stars (so long, Carson Kressley!) earned a 2.6/6 and 13.5 million, its lowest-rated regular fall telecast ever, and Body of Proof nabbed a 1.9/5 and 9.4 million.
NCIS on CBS earned a 3.8/10 and 19 million, NCIS: LA got a 3.3/8 and 15.3 million, and Unforgettable posted a 2.5/6 and 11.8 million. On NBC, The Biggest Loser keeps losing weight, but not the kind they’d like: the reality show was down another 5% to 1.9/5, its lowest-rated regular fall telecast ever. It only averaged 5.1 million. My beloved Parenthood earned a 2.0/5 and 4.9 million.
On CW, Ringer grew 14% in 18-49 versus last week, but it still only got a .8/2 and 1.7 million viewers. Eek.
Bottom line: Fox won the night in 18-49 (3.8/10), followed by CBS (3.2/8), ABC (2.4/6), NBC (1.9/5), Univision (which-aired-shows-that-I-can’t-translate-here-but-it-doesn’t-matter-because-they-beat-CW with a 1.5/4) and CW (.8/2). In viewers, CBS won with 15.4 million, followed by ABC (10.6 million), Fox (10.1 million), NBC (5.0 million), Univision (3.3 million), and CW (1.6 million).
