Robert Downey eyes Perry Mason movie

Robert Downey is developing a feature film based on heroic fictional defense lawyer, Perry Mason, EW has confirmed. Team Downey and Warner Bros. are resurrecting the franchise, based on Erle Stanley Gardner’s books and made most famous by actor Raymond Burr on television, as a potential vehicle for the Iron Man star. A writer has not been hired, but the film would be based on an original story conceived by Downey and David Gambino that is set in 1930s L.A. (Variety first reported the story.)
