Rapper and mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is trying his hand at writing for teens and doing good at the same time. Jackson’s partially autobiographical novel Playground, following a troubled 13-year-old named Butterball, touches on his own experience being a former bully. As Jackson writes in the introduction — also excerpted below — one of the purposes of this book is to “show a kid who has become a bully — how and why that happened, and whether or not he can move past it.” See below for the first three chapters of Playground:

Playground will be released Nov. 1.
