Legendary crooner Tony Bennett stopped by The Daily Show on Thursday to talk about his new record-breaking album, Duets II, and he ended up sharing his sad impressions of working with the late Amy Winehouse while recording “Body and Soul.” “She knew that she was in a lot of trouble, that she wasn’t going to live,” Bennett said.

Bennett has spoken before about the friendship he had with Winehouse. Recently he told EW’s Melissa Maerz that he had planned to sit her down when he saw her in October and talk with her. “I was going to tell her, ‘It’s going to kill you if you don’t stop.’

Proceeds from “Body and Soul” will reportedly benefit the newly-launched Amy Winehouse Foundation.
