The women of CBS’ The Talk are expected to have a pretty heavy one on Friday when co-host and co-creator Sara Gilbert opens up for the first time about her recent breakup.

Last month, the 36-year-old Roseanne actress ended her 10-year relationship with TV producer Allison Adler (Chuck). Gilbert and Adler, 44, planned to share custody of their children, son Levi, 6, and daughter Sawyer, 4.

According to an early transcript from the Sept. 30 show, Gilbert questions whether “marriage is all it’s cracked up to be.”

“I’ve never been married, but I was in a long relationship,” she says. “It’s emotional for me, because we’re not together. I wouldn’t trade that time…it’s such a special time in my life…But then you see people in their 70s and you wonder…how do they do it? How do they make it last? And I would like to think that I can.”

Gilbert’s decision to address the end of her relationship comes at a time when CBS is trying to revamp the daytime chatfest that will celebrate its first anniversary in October. Saturday Night Live personality Molly Shannon was brought in as a temporary host this month to help fill the void left by Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete, whose contracts were not renewed.

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner has been covering for the MIA Sharon Osbourne, who will be back. Comedienne Sheryl Underwood has also become a fulltime member of the panel with Julie Chen and Gilbert.
