Nightmare on Elm Street star joins Hawaii 5-0
Hawaii Five-O
Here’s a scary yet brilliant casting move by Hawaii 5-0 for its Halloween episode: The islanders are about to get a visit from Freddy Krueger!
EW has learned exclusively that Robert Englund, a cult favorite best known for his wildly successful run in the Nightmare on Elm Street series, will play a homeless desert storm veteran who hangs around an ancient burial site and becomes a suspect in a murder investigation.
Englund’s other recent TV appearances have included spots on Supernatural, Chuck and Bones. He last donned the razor-sharp knife hand and disfigured face in 2003.
5-0’s second season is shaping up to be a big one in terms of intriguing guest stars. Besides a multi-episode arc with Terry O’Quinn, the drama booked Tom Sizemore for an arc and just lured another Lost star to the mix. NCIS: LA‘s Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) will also appear in an upcoming episode of the show’s second season.
