Steve Jobs resigns as Apple's CEO, Matthew Fox detained in for alleged attack, and more

Horrible Bosses star Jason Bateman, 42, and wife Amanda Anka will welcome their second child. They have a daughter, Francesca, 4.

Filmmaker Sofia Coppola, 40, and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, 34, married in Italy on Aug. 27.

Actress Melissa Gilbert, 47, filed for divorce from actor Bruce Boxleitner, 61, on Aug. 22, citing irreconcilable differences. They’ll share custody of son Michael, 15…. Melissa’s sister, The Talk cohost Sara Gilbert, 36, has separated from her partner, TV producer Allison Adler, after 10 years together. They’ll share custody of son Levi, 6, and daughter Sawyer, 4.

After years of health woes, Steve Jobs, 56, announced his resignation as CEO of Apple on Aug. 24. He’ll stay on as chairman of the board.

Actor Matthew Fox, 45, was briefly detained on Aug. 27 by Cleveland police after an altercation with a female driver of a party bus, who alleges the ex-Lost star attacked her after being denied entry to the vehicle.

Rapper Lil Wayne, 28, has been sued by Rick Cunningham, a.k.a. Rich Rick, for allegedly stealing beats that Rick claims were made exclusively for him. Rick says the beats appear on Wayne’s song ”How to Love.”

Grammy winner David ”Honeyboy” Edwards, 96, widely regarded as the last of the original Delta bluesmen, died at his Chicago home on Aug. 29…. Michael Showers, the actor who played police captain John Guidry on HBO’s Treme, was found drowned in the Mississippi River near New Orleans on Aug. 24. He was 45.
