Stephen King’s best-seller Under the Dome is headed to Showtime.

The network has agreed to buy a script for a series based on the novel, about a small Maine town that becomes trapped under a mysterious invisible force field. A corrupt local politician uses the crisis to seize power as the environment starts to turn toxic and resources become scarce. Steven Spielberg is on board as an executive producer through DreamWorks TV, but there’s no screenwriter on board yet.
