In his final show after being canceled by TBS, George Lopez wrapped himself in the warm embrace of his crowd and his celebrity guests. “Tonight is all about having fun with great friends,” said Lopez, as he welcomed Arsenio Hall, who joined Eva Longoria on the couch. Later, Lakers’ players Ron Artest (aka Metta World Peace) and Derek Fisher joined the party, as did guitarist Slash. Lopez shared some of his favorite moments in a video montage…

…and then he thanked all the people who had helped him along the way, including Sandra Bullock, “who 11 years ago, took a chance on me.” In a tender moment, he thanked the fans who made his show different. “When they asked me to do a talk show,” Lopez said. “I wanted it be inclusive and I wanted it to be fun. So right now, I’d like to ask the camera people to take one shot of this audience and show you how inclusive this show has always been.”

While the band kicked into “Rock and Roll All Night,” Lopez parted with, “You have just seen the baddest show in late night. Next year, it’s Jeruselum!”

Did you watch Lopez’ farewell? Do you see him getting another shot at late-night?
