June 24 — when the New York state legislature voted to allow same-sex marriage — was a landmark day for men, women, and… puppets? Rod and Ricky, the same-sex couple from Avenue Q are jumping on the bandwagon and getting hitched this Sunday, July 24, the first day the law goes into effect.

Rod, a Wall Street banker, met Ricky on the Broadway stage in 2003. Since then, the pair have met and fallen in love 3,267 times, staying together through the move Off-Broadway. The couple is planning a small, intimate ceremony at NYC’s City Hall, along with the numerous other couples who will be tying the knot. After, they’ll celebrate their nuptials with 499 friends at Avenue Q‘s 3 o’clock matinee. The soon-to-be-newlyweds have not yet determined a destination for their honeymoon.
