Capping off an 11-day North American tour, Prince William and his newly minted Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, both 29, attended BAFTA’s inaugural Brits to Watch event July 9 in L.A. The gala was supposed to honor (or, in this case, ”honour”) up-and-coming U.K. talent, such as Atonement‘s Juno Temple, but naturally the royal couple were the Brits to watch that evening — as they have been ever since their April 29 wedding. Hollywood VIPs like Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Jennifer Lopez, and Blake Lively were on hand to celebrate with them. The rest of the duo’s weekend was jam-packed — they mingled with Reese Witherspoon and Kristin Gore at an event for the environmental organization Tusk, and William played a polo match near Santa Barbara. Did he win? Like you have to ask.
