Reps for David Duchovny and wife Téa Leoni have confirmed that the actors are separated.

It’s been a rocky road for the couple since life imitated art and the Californication star, 50, checked into rehab for sexual addiction in 2008. That same year, Duchovny filed suit against the U.K.’s Daily Mail for alleging that he was having an affair with a tennis instructor. The Mail later issued a retraction. Despite the escalating scandal, Duchovny reconciled with 45-year-old Leoni after a few months apart.

Duchovny met Leoni in 1992 when they both interviewed for a guest spot on the Tonight Show. They reconnected in 1997 and married that same year. After 14 years of marriage, they have two children – daughter Madelaine West, 12, and son Kyd, 9.
