Fox has announced that the next season of American Idol will begin auditioning contestants in St. Louis on Tuesday, June 28. From there, Idol auditions will continue in Portland, Ore., on July 2; San Diego, Calif., on July 8; Pittsburgh, Penn., on July 15; Charleston, S.C., on July 22; Denver, Colo., on July 29; and finally concluding in Houston, Texas, on Aug. 26. It’s unclear at this time whether the season 10 judging panel of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler will be returning for season 11 — Jackson told George Lopez last month that all three would be back, but earlier this week Lopez admitted that she was “on the fence” about returning. Luckily, it rebounded with its finale results show, which rose 12 percent from season 9.
