Thursday night’s down-to-the-wire Game 2 of the NBA Finals delivered an easy victory for ABC, posting a 10.5 overnight household rating (not to be confused with the adult demo rating we typically report). The number puts last night’s Dallas/Miami game above the last time the teams met for the title in 2006. The finals will continue on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Meanwhile Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance stayed out of the way with a one-hour episode, averaging 7.7 million viewers and a 2.8 preliminary rating in the demo. Still, that’s down a 15 percent from last week’s premiere (or, put another way, down 3 percent from last week’s 8 p.m. hour).

Buried in the night was NBC finally rolling out Becki Newton’s Love Bites at 10 p.m. as part of a summer burn-off strategy. The show was only seen by 2.5 million viewers and got a 1.0 demo rating. Be nice now, that show’s been through enough.
