Fox’s summer dance competition hit So You Think You Can Dance blessedly returned to the airwaves with a two-hour audition premiere last night, and EW recently caught up with Cat Deeley, the ever-excitable host of the show who was more than pumped to talk about the new season. Of course, one of the big topics in any discussion about season 8 naturally transforms into a lively discussion about the return of beloved judge Mary Murphy, who was absent last year. Deeley had much to say about the notoriously loud and boisterous judge.

“I think we definitely missed out on some of Mary’s positivity last season,” Deeley says of Murphy’s return. “There’s nobody on the planet who is more energetic than Mary Murphy — she’s just so much! I’m just delighted the Hot Tamale Train is rolling back.”

By invoking the Hot Tamale Train, Deeley is referencing Murphy’s signature compliment, where she often tells dancers on the show who she loves that they’ve boarded her fiery Hot Tamale Train. “I think we missed her for a little while, so I booked my ticket on the Hot Tamale Train,” Deeley says. “I’m traveling first class, since she’s back in town. I’m even looking forward to the screams! That’s how much I’m looking forward to that.”
