Brian Williams in his own NBC newsmagazine?

This sounds a heckuva lot more interesting than just slapping up more editions of Dateline: NBC is developing a newsmagazine for the 2011-12 schedule that could involve Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. Multiple reports say the project is in the early stages so its unclear whether NBC will be ready to unveil the new show at its upfront presentation in New York Monday.

NBC’s new owners at Comcast are reportedly interested in showcasing the network’s top news talent. And newsmagazines can fire up quickly for fall, especially if a new drama fizzles quickly.
