Jessica Szohr Taylor Momsen leaving Gossip Girl

After lengthy absences throughout this current season, Jessica Szohr and Taylor Momsen will not be returning as series regulars on Gossip Girl next season, sources confirm to EW. (TVLine first reported the news.) Newbie Kaylee DeFer, who spoke with us last month before her debut on the show, is also being bumped to series regular.

Momsen’s Jenny Humphrey has been largely absent since the end of last season when her character was banished from Manhattan after sleeping with Chuck. (But has anyone really missed her?) And while there’s no banishment to explain Szohr’s spotty appearance this season, even longtime fans of the show will admit there just hasn’t been much for her to do these days.

Meanwhile, DeFer’s Charlie, who is adapting to the crazy ways of the Upper East Side, has earned a spot as a regular on the teen soap.
