Tina Fey's 'SNL' promos
It’s become increasingly common that some of the Saturday Night Live promo spots they run in the days leading up to a new episode are as funny — if not funnier — than the actual skits during the broadcast (case in point: watch Paul Rudd and Andy Samberg’s manic commercial. Seriously those two minutes were some of the best television from 2010.)
If Tina Fey‘s new promotional spot with SNL cast member Kenan Thompson is even a taste of what to expect from the May 7 episode, which marks her third time hosting, it should be far from disappointing (even if Sarah Palin decides not to drop in and share her unique views on the recent turn of events in the world).
The Bossypants scribe — looking pretty as ever with her expanding baby bump — channels a little Liz Lemon when Kenan discovers a sign that says “I Suck” (not even a little close to true, Tina) on her back (that exasperated “Ohh” sounded like it should have been followed by “Nerds!”) early in the clip.
But it’s her nearly minute-long rant explaining all the wildly unprintable things you can’t say on live television that had us holding our own bellies. When she finishes Kenan tells her, “I’ll be needing to write some of those down”, to which the preggo SNL vet responds with a smile, “F— yeah, I’m swearing for two these days!” Best. Mother’s Day. Ever. Check it out:
