Superman reboot casts Antje Traue as female villain: Report

Antje Traue has been cast in the upcoming Superman reboot as the villainous Faora, according to Variety. The German actress, whose only major previous Hollywood credit was in 2009’s Pandorum, will join a rogues’ gallery that already includes Michael Shannon’s General Zod. (Warner Bros. has declined to comment.) There have been various versions of Faora in Superman comics over the years, and the character loosely inspired the femme fatale Ursa in Superman II. The 2012 film begins shooting this summer.
