Three of Hollywood’s top leading men may be ganging up. EW has confirmed that, as first reported by Deadline, Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Josh Brolin are in negotiations with Warner Bros. to star in the period crime drama Gangster Squad. Penn would play real-life mob kingpin Mickey Cohen, one of the most notorious gangsters of the ’40s and ’50s, and Gosling and Brolin are in talks to play two cops assigned to take him down. Zombieland director Ruben Fleisher is set to direct the film, which is slated to begin shooting this fall.
