In the movie (out April 15; the soundtrack is out April 5), you play a pair of wisecracking birds, Nico and Pedro, and you team up on the song ”Hot Wings (I Wanna Party).” What’s the idea there? I just wanted to have a catchy song that people would be singing afterwards. And I wanted to make parts that DJs would want to sample or play in the club, elements that could be used out in the world.

Will, as a nonactor, was it tough to get into character? I’m used to being physical and doing facial expressions. That doesn’t work with animation, so I really had to work.

Did you get to interact with other ”voices,” like Jesse Eisenberg? I produced Anne Hathaway’s vocals, and I was surprised. I didn’t know she could sing like that!

Jamie, what else do you have going on musicwise right now?
Jamie Foxx: After listening to Will talk about how many people come to his concerts, I’ve decided to go into another business. It’s a little disheartening when they tell me, ”You’re hitting them in Palm Springs, Foxx!” And then you hear the Peas just sold out three stadiums in France that hold 80,000 people in an hour. I’ve got a lot of work to do. I’ve got to rethink my whole existence!
