Keith S. Brown, the father and one-time manager of the 5 Browns classical music group, was sentenced to at least 10 years in prison by a Fourth District judge in Provo, Utah, one month after admitting that he sexually abused three of his piano-playing daughters. “I do believe, sir, that you are a pedophile,” Judge David Mortensen said, according to the Associated Press, “and I do believe that you are a danger to society.”

Brown had managed the group, whose albums have topped the classical music charts, until 2008. According to court documents, the sexual assaults took place between 1990 and 1998. The three daughters, who are now in their twenties and early thirties, are on tour and did not attend Thursday’s proceedings. But Deputy Utah County Attorney David Sturgill said, “To say whether 10 years, 15, 20 years in jail or prison is enough for [what] he’s done, I don’t know. Whether it’s good or bad, he has changed the course of their lives, and I don’t know if there’s any price he could possibly pay that would make up for that.”
