The Harry Potter marketing machine continues to do it right: The new poster for the final installment of the franchise features a stare down between bruised and battered Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes). I love it: Not only because the blood on Harry’s face reminds you that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 is a war film, but because you can’t help but think of what this image would’ve looked like had it been Harry circa Sorcerer’s Stone and appreciate the man he’s become. (Note how the light catches Harry’s stubble… when you’re not mesmerized by Voldemort’s fingernail.) I also love that they went with this strong image, with the wand at the center and the line “IT ALL ENDS 7.15” and didn’t care that it left no room for the title of the movie. Eight films in, we know it.
